Starting Over

There is a certain vulnerability to starting over.

I had an 8 year hiatus from Kinesiology.  Now that I have started again yes, it’s exciting. But geez, it’s scary.

The fear of failure? Hello!

The fear of putting myself out ‘there’? Yep

The fear that I’ve forgotten everything? Mmm hmm.

The fear of leaving a job with consistent paycheck? Oh boy.

Our brains are programmed to keep us safe and secure inside our comfort zones. And this change is definitely stepping outside of that.

Even though I want to be an established expert already, I have been telling the voice of fear that it’s ok to start again. It’s ok to be the apprentice again. I don’t need to be ashamed of being the rookie again. I don’t need to compare myself to others and how far along their journey they are. Because this is my unique path.

I obviously needed to take a detour out of the clinic to learn life lessons, in order to be a better practitioner and to better serve my clients.

This time I’m not starting from scratch, I’m starting from experience.

So whatever starting over looks like for you – a new job or career / starting a business / ending or entering a relationship / moving city / etc – don’t let the fear of the unknown stop you. Be scared… but do it anyway.

Starting over is a sign of courage. Starting over is you saying “I want more”. Starting over is giving yourself and your life another chance.

So I’m saying NO to fear and YES to change;

YES to starting over;

YES to stepping up;

YES to going bigger.

Please reach out if I can help you move through your fears and help get you out of your own way.

Love,

G x
